Opera is set to submit its web browser application, the Opera Mini, to the Apple iPhone app store. Whether Apple will approve the application, is still up in the air. Safari, Apple’s web browser is currently the only web browser app available in the app store. Apple has been clear with developers on one point and that is that apps will not be accepted if they duplicate a function that the iPhone is already capable of. Opera advocates that Opera Mini differentiates itself from Safari. Thanks to its compression technology, the company says it is up to 6 times faster than the Safari, while Safari’s design makes it more apt for more data-intensive functions, such as editing a Google document. Now it’s up to the folks in Cupertino to decide if they want another web browser app to compete against their Safari.

The most anticipated new device is finally here. Well, almost. On Friday, Apple, Inc. began taking orders for their latest innovation, the iPad. Even though Apple has begun taking pre-orders, the iPad won’t be distributed out until April 3rd. That’s the same day they hit the store shelves. Customers will be limited to only 2 iPads initially. The Wi-Fi version, starting at $499, will be delivered on that date with the 3G version that starts at $629 coming later in the month. Consumers in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Spain, Switzerland and the UK will be able to buy both the Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G versions of the iPad in late April. AT&T will carry the iPad offering 250MB of data for $14.99 per month, and an unlimited plan for $30 – both without an annual contract. Not a bad deal if you ask me.

As we promised, we bring you more info on HTC Legend. In fact, we present you exclusive crystal clear image of the upcoming Android phone from HTC. We suppose it will replace Hero, considering the dimensions, screen size and specs. Besides the AMOLED HVGA screen (16 million colors) it features optical mouse (or should we say optical trackpoint?). Legend will probably be announced in Barcelona (World Mobile Congress 2010) and hit the streets (or mobile operators) in march 2010. It certainly does resemble the Hero, but Legend will have metallic frame and will also feature updated versions of HTC People and Footprints. Let’s not forget LED flash, something the Hero really misses, and a 600MHz processor. Green bottom is probably going to change… What do you thing on Legend vs Bravo ? Will you even consider HVGA after WVGA and Bravo appear ?

Update: Specs sheet is now correct, the screen is HVGA !
